Job Opportunity: Assistant Treasurer
Lackawaxen Township is seeking a qualified Assistant Treasurer to support the financial operations of the Township. This full-time position offers a salary plus benefits and a retirement plan. The position is available immediately. We are accepting resumes until June 12th.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with overall fiscal management and financial reporting
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and bill payments
Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain employee records and benefits
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor investments
Prepare financial reports, budgets, and cash flow projections
Coordinate with auditors and CPA to ensure compliance
Support Township meetings with financial documentation
Assist with grant reporting, insurance coordination, and recordkeeping
Provide financial oversight support to fire departments and EMS
Qualifications:
Strong accounting and financial management experience
Fluency in QuickBooks required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Position Requirements:
Attend monthly Township meetings
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with regulations
